Shift & Schedule
- Day Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Proficiency with any charting system (required)
- Certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
- Experience in labor and delivery, high-risk antepartum care, and teaching hospital environments
- Exposure to a facility with 200–300 births monthly
- Triage of obstetrical patients and antepartum care procedures
- Skill in fetal monitoring, including intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration
- Competency in IV therapy and phlebotomy, including maintenance of central lines (CVC/PICC)
- Medication administration experience with anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Labor and delivery management capabilities such as assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, recovery post-C-section, and performing sterile vaginal exams
- Adherence to isolation precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and delivery patients, including high-risk antepartum cases
- Perform triage assessments for obstetrical patients arriving to the unit
- Monitor fetal well-being using advanced fetal monitoring techniques, including IUPC placement and calibration
- Administer IV therapy, maintain central lines, and manage phlebotomy requirements
- Administer various medications safely and effectively, including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Assist in high-risk deliveries and surgical procedures such as C-sections with roles including circulation and recovery care
- Perform sterile vaginal examinations as necessary
- Follow isolation protocols and utilize PPE in accordance with infection control standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care and education
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure
- Certification in ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, and NRP
- At least 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, with a strong background in managing high-risk antepartum patients
- Ability to use any electronic charting system proficiently
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and adherence to clinical protocols
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly rate: $61.00 - $72.00
