Shift Schedule
- Night Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in relevant settings
- Proficient with charting systems (any platform acceptable)
- Current Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
- Strong clinical skills in labor and delivery, antepartum care, and high-risk obstetrics
- Experience managing facility births averaging 200-300 per month
- Skilled in triage of obstetrical patients
- Proficient in fetal monitoring including use, placement, and calibration of Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC)
- IV therapy skills including maintenance of central lines such as CVC and PICC
- Medication administration experience with anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Ability to assist with high-risk deliveries, recover C-sections, perform sterile vaginal exams, and circulate during C-sections
- Knowledgeable in infection control practices including isolation precautions and proper use of PPE
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and high-risk antepartum patients in a fast-paced environment
- Triage obstetrical patients promptly and accurately to prioritize care needs
- Perform fetal monitoring with advanced techniques, including IUPC placement and calibration
- Administer medications as per protocol, managing anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate
- Maintain and care for central lines (CVC/PICC) with strict adherence to safety standards
- Assist with labor and delivery management, including high-risk deliveries and post C-section recovery care
- Conduct sterile vaginal exams and participate actively in surgical procedures such as C-sections by circulating
- Adhere to isolation protocols and utilize personal protective equipment to maintain a safe care environment
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license in good standing
- At least 2 years of nursing experience in labor and delivery or a related obstetrical field
- Valid certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, and NRP
- Strong clinical judgment with exceptional communication and patient advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices in obstetrical care
Compensation: Hourly rate of $61.00 - $72.00, paid weekly.
