About This Position

Job Overview

We are looking for a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (or a new grad undergoing licensing) to help patients improve their mobility and move forward. You will work closely and under the direction of the physical therapist, treating patients with conditions that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PTA to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for new graduates to gain valuable clinical experience in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.

Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner.

Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercise and self care.

Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques and other modalities to facilitate patient recovery.

Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper use and maintenance.

Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems according to clinical documentation standards.

Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain procedures, motivate participation, and address concerns to enhance patient engagement.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to coordinate care plans and optimize patient outcomes.

Participate in patient status judgments.

Adhere to ethical and legal standards.

Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program; new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the relevant jurisdiction.

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and related medical terminology.

Experience or familiarity with clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation standards.

Proficiency in the operation of medical equipment used in physical therapy treatments.

Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
