Duties
Provide direct patient care across medical-surgical and telemetry units, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
Monitor cardiac rhythms and utilize telemetry systems to detect arrhythmias or other cardiac events promptly
Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, and medication management per physician orders
Perform comprehensive physical examinations and vital signs assessments to evaluate patient status regularly
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, patient education, and post-hospital care instructions
Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety
Requirements
Valid RN license in the state of employment with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Proven experience in medical-surgical nursing with exposure to telemetry monitoring; ICU or critical care experience is highly preferred
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and patient management
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to inpatient care settings
Ability to perform advanced skills including IV insertion, suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile procedures
Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration
