Job Summary
Job type: Full Time
Shift: 8HR 12pm-8pm Monday-Friday
The Surgery Aide provides support to the operating room staff. Duties include knowledge of OR equipment, place work orders as needed, transporting of patients, housekeeping duties, ordering of supplies, stocking of supplies, transporting specimens, and assisting the anesthesia technicians.
Responsibilities
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Surgical shave preps, Maintains clean gurneys and patient beds, Delivers specimens to the lab.
Follows aseptic technique when performing assigned duties in the surgical suite
Participates in room turn over
Transports blood to the OR as assigned
Transports specimens to the lab as assigned
Transports patients to and from surgical services as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work with nursing staff, patients and families.
Good oral and written communications skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintain current at all times).
