About This Position
Traveling Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 13‑week contract in Palm Springs, CA. Provides specialized nursing care during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, collaborating with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiovascular procedures
Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after procedures
Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, and patient responses throughout procedures
Administer medications and moderate sedation in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab procedures
Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and sterile fields
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions
Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations and changes in patient condition
Document patient care accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR)
Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications:
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of one year of acute care RN experience
Recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
Candidates enrolled in an RN‑to‑BSN or RN‑to‑MSN program within one year of hire, completion within five years may be considered
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and remain calm in high‑pressure environments
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management abilities
Ability to operate standard office and clinical equipment, including computers, scanners, printers, and electronic medical record systems
Knowledge of current nursing standards, cardiovascular care practices, and evidence‑based patient care
