About This Position

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Lima, Ohio. This travel position involves delivering advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU environment requiring continuous monitoring and rapid clinical decision-making.

The ICU RN will assess, plan, and implement patient care strategies for individuals with complex and life-threatening conditions. This role follows 12-hour night shifts totaling 36 hours per week and requires strong critical care experience, teamwork, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient status.

Candidates must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license and meet required certifications and experience standards.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit

Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and advanced life-support equipment

Assess patient status and implement appropriate clinical interventions

Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders

Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care

Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the medical record

Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations

Ensure adherence to hospital safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and ICU best practices

Skills / Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States or compact state eligibility

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required or preferred by facility

Strong experience managing critically ill patients and complex medical conditions

Ability to operate and monitor ICU equipment such as ventilators and advanced cardiac monitoring systems

Experience in high-acuity environments with rapid patient condition changes

Strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical assessment skills
