Position Title: Med/Surg Charge Nurse (RN) - Full Time (FT)
Department: Med/Surg
Reports to: Director of Med/Surg
The Charge Nurse serves as a clinical leader on the unit, overseeing daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. This role blends direct patient care with leadership responsibilities to guide and mentor the care team.

What You'll Do
Provide direct patient care using the nursing process
Coordinate and oversee unit workflow, staffing, and patient assignments
Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff
Ensure high standards of patient safety, care quality, and compliance
Communicate and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Support and guide staff in prioritization and clinical decision-making
Assist with patient and family education and discharge planning
Monitor patient progress and ensure accurate documentation
What You Need
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
Prior acute care experience required; leadership or charge experience preferred
Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
Ability to lead, support, and collaborate with a team
