About This Position
PASSPORT HEALTH
Registered Nurse – Travel Medicine | Omaha, NE
This isn't a traditional nursing role — and the pay reflects it.
Passport Health is North America's largest travel medicine and immunization provider, with 300+ clinics across the U.S. and Canada. We're looking for experienced RNs ready to step out of a high-pressure hospital or traditional clinic setting into a role built around independence, specialized knowledge, and real one-on-one patient time.
What Makes This Role Different
Most of our nurses work independently — no charge nurse, no team overhead, no endless task lists. You manage your day around your clients and their experience, backed by a network of clinical leadership, but the day-to-day is yours.
Travel medicine is a specialty. You'll build deep expertise in vaccine-preventable diseases, international health risks, and pre-travel planning — knowledge most nurses never get the chance to develop. Every visit is a real consultation, not a check-the-box encounter.
Current Opening Details
Location: Omaha, NE 68114
Employment Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $45.00/hr
Weekly Hours & Schedule: 24 hrs/week - Mondays and Friday required, bi-weekly Saturdays required
What You'll Do
Conduct in-depth travel health consultations and educate clients on destination-specific risks
Administer vaccines per standing orders and monitor for adverse reactions
Recommend travel health products and medications as clinically appropriate
Manage clinic setup, inventory, and compliance with safety and documentation protocols
Support onsite corporate wellness or vaccine clinic events as needed
Complete ongoing travel medicine training — we invest in keeping your clinical knowledge current
Scheduling — What to Expect
We build schedules 6–12 months out, so you get real visibility instead of week-to-week guessing. Hours flex with client demand and season — peak travel season (Feb–Aug) typically brings the highest, most stable volume — and nurses with weekend flexibility or willingness to cover more than one location tend to see their hours grow fastest.
What You Need to Succeed
Active RN license in good standing
Compact (multistate) RN licensure accepted — must legally reside in the licensed/practicing state
3+ years of clinical nursing experience (travel medicine background a plus, not required)
Comfortable working independently
Strong patient communication and education skills
Reliable personal computer (training systems require desktop or laptop) and Google Suite proficiency
Current First Aid/CPR certification
Ability to lift and transport vaccine inventory as needed (up to 25 lbs)
Ideal For Nurses Who
Want meaningful part-time hours at above-market pay without hospital-shift chaos
Are reliable for weekend coverage and open to some scheduling flexibility
Are ready for a role where clinical judgment is trusted and patient relationships matter
Ready to Apply? Learn more:
Passport Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Expected hours: 24 per week
Benefits:
Flexible schedule
Work Location: In person
