Responsibilities
Assist residents with bathing, showering, and personal hygiene routines, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
Support residents with mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts and transfer techniques to prevent injuries
Monitor and record vital signs, skin condition, and overall health status during care activities
Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment
Document care provided accurately in electronic health records (EHR systems) like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Collaborate with nursing staff to report changes in residents’ condition or behavior promptly
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during personal care activities, promoting dignity and respect
Qualifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required; prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings highly preferred
Demonstrated experience with medical documentation and medical terminology
Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and patient safety procedures
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is advantageous
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s), or memory care is a plus
Ability to handle physical tasks involving lifting, transferring, and assisting residents safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts
Compassionate attitude with strong communication skills and a dedication to patient-centered care
