Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in infusion therapy to join our team on a per diem basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in infusion procedures and patient care across diverse clinical settings. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing services, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring patient safety and comfort in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Administer intravenous (IV) infusions, medications, and therapies accurately following established protocols.
Assess patient conditions through comprehensive physical examinations and vital signs monitoring to determine appropriate interventions.
Utilize advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic and Cerner to document care activities precisely and efficiently.
Provide specialized infusion treatments including botulinum toxin therapy and other outpatient procedures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans tailored to patient needs.
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards during all procedures.
Educate patients and their families regarding infusion therapies, medication administration, and post-treatment care instructions.
Skills
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth for accurate documentation.
Extensive experience with IV insertion, catheter care, and aseptic technique.
Knowledge of complex infusion therapies such as botulinum toxin treatment and dialysis procedures.
Critical care experience in settings like ICU or trauma centers is highly desirable.
Familiarity with medical coding systems including ICD-10/ICD-9 for documentation accuracy.
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to infusion therapy.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.
