About This Position
Urgent Needs - Preferred Local LVNs
Location: Lubbock, TX 79415
Facility Type: SSLC / Psych / Behavioral Health / IDD Setting
Start Date: Typically the 1st or 15th of each month
Contract Length: 6 months, with option to extend
Openings: 3 LVNs
Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Shift Length: 8-hour shifts
Schedule Requirements
First 5 weeks will require training Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
After training, shifts may alternate based on facility staffing needs.
Guaranteed 32–40 hours per week.
Required to work every other weekend shift or 2 weekend doubles, based on facility needs.
LVN Pay rate:
Local: $42/hr
Travel: ($15/hr taxed + $1160/wk tax-free travel stipend)
** Must be 50 miles away from permanent residence to qualify for housing allowance**
LVN JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides complex vocational nursing work.
Work involves providing for the care, treatment, and general welfare of patients.
May supervise the work of others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and performs Nursing duties within the assigned areas and assigned shift.
Performs basic and complex nursing tasks to fulfill the health needs of the most medically fragile individuals, including the collection of lab work and other health screenings.
Keeps informed of and follows all agency, facility and unit policies and procedures.
Assists the RN Supervisor with on-the-job Nursing instruction and training of other new LVN's.
Assists the Infection Control nurse by implementing measures that prevent the spread of disease, assists the QA Nurse in developing and implementing quality assurance programs, and assists in the implementation of therapeutic nursing programs.
Competent in advanced skills such as gastrostomy tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, etc.
