We are seeking a dedicated Saturday IV Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team! This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert infusion therapy and patient care on weekends, ensuring our clients receive top-quality treatment in a supportive environment. As a Saturday IV Infusion RN, you will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care to diverse patient populations, including those requiring complex infusion therapies, ophthalmology treatments, and long-term care. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes while working within a collaborative team committed to excellence.
Responsibilities
Administer intravenous (IV) infusions accurately and safely, following aseptic technique and established protocols
Assess patient conditions through vital signs, physical examinations, and comprehensive evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans
Prepare and manage medications, including botulinum toxin treatments and other specialty infusions, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR systems)
Monitor patients during and after infusion procedures, managing acute pain or adverse reactions with prompt intervention
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex needs such as cardiac catheterization recovery or infectious disease management
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards while ensuring patient confidentiality
Educate patients on post-infusion care, medication administration, and health coaching strategies to promote recovery and well-being
Requirements
Valid RN license in good standing with current state registration
Proven experience in IV insertion, catheter care, and aseptic technique
Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or emergency medicine settings
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and ICD coding standards (ICD-10/ICD-9) for precise record keeping
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is highly desirable
Strong assessment skills with the ability to triage effectively in urgent situations
Ability to work independently on Saturdays while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care
