Job Summary
As a Regional MDS Resource, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments across multiple healthcare facilities within a designated region. Travel required - 75%
Areas this Position Supports:
This position supports multiple skilled nursing, assisted living and independent living facilities throughout Abilene, Lubbock, Littlefield, Amarillo, Odessa and El Paso, TX
Duties
Ensures compliance with the Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, and regulations from Federal, State, and accrediting bodies.
Provides education and oversight to staff on RAI, Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and QASP Reimbursement Programs, including accurate claims and billing.
Assists facilities in meeting Medicare regulatory requirements and provides orientation to new hire and backup MDS nurses.
Reviews and trains staff on improving Quality Measures, PDPM Case Mix Indexes, and QASP Program performance through hands-on training and clinical system implementation.
Participates in facility meetings and reviews systems for accuracy in documentation and case mix.
Conducts chart and care plan reviews, providing direct involvement in corrective actions and staff training on PCC, competencies, and facility nursing services.
Experience
Must have RN or LVN License
3+ years’ MDS experience in a skilled nursing facility
Experience in multi-facility oversight role preferred
Ability to travel within market facilities
Able to prioritize and organize tasks at hand to meet specific deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Knowledge of state regulations
