About This Position
RESPONSIBILITIES
Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients
Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs
Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools
Consults with healthcare professionals
Trains patients and families on managing illnesses or injuries and disease prevention
Helps provide primary care to patients
Performs physical exams and patient observations
Records patient medical histories and symptoms
Creates patient care plans and contribute to existing plans
Orders, administers and analyzes diagnostic tests
Diagnose health issues
Detects changes in a patient’s health and change treatment plans as necessary
Administers medicines and treatments
Evaluates responses to treatments and medications
Possess a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to patients
Minimum qualifications
Prefer minimum one year experience working as a nurse practitioner; will consider a new graduate
Masters degree from an accredited nursing program
Must have RN licensure in the state where employed or a compact party state and be board certified by either ANCC or AANP
Must have prescriptive authorization
APN authorization in the state where employed to practice in Family Health by the Board of Nurse Examiners
Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of computer-based health data management programs and information systems
Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, and physicians
Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA
Experience providing primary care as a family nurse practitioner
Experience
Minimum of one year of clinical experience in area of primary care or urgent care settings as a nurse practitioner

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
