Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) working under an Indian Health Service (IHS) contract in <LOCATION>. Duties
Provide direct patient care across multiple settings, including inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and community health environments.
Perform thorough patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and detailed medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth.
Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and manage airway support including ventilator care.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and basic imaging procedures like sonography or radiology if qualified.
Assist with complex procedures including catheterization, suturing, ostomy care, and wound management following aseptic techniques.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and health coaching to promote optimal recovery and health maintenance.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical records in accordance with NCQA standards and ICD coding protocols (ICD-9/10).
Support patients with specialized needs such as those with developmental disabilities, memory care requirements, or undergoing hospice & palliative medicine.
Requirements
Valid RN license in the state of <LOCATION> or appropriate compact licensure for multi-state practice.
Proven critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers; trauma medicine experience is highly valued.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards.
Experience working in diverse clinical settings including hospital medicine, emergency room (ER), urgent care, outpatient clinics, or home & community care environments.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
Ability to perform advanced skills such as IV insertion, tube feeding management, ventilator support, and specimen processing.
Excellent patient assessment skills coupled with compassionate communication tailored to individuals across age groups—including pediatrics and geriatrics—and those with disabilities or chronic conditions.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred. Pay: $2,427.56 - $2,923.51 per week
