We are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics professional to join our team in Olympia, WA. Shift and Schedule

  • Night Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
  • Shift Hours: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM

Requirements and Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of professional respiratory therapy experience
  • Proficient in charting with Epic electronic medical records system
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP, PALS, and RRT
  • Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) settings is required
  • Competent in adult critical care and emergency department practices
  • Medication delivery expertise, including aerosol set-up masks and trach, Medihaler, and Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI)
  • Competent medication administration, including but not limited to:
    • Bicarbonate (required)
    • Inhaled Flolan (required)
    • Ketamine (required)
    • Mucomyst (required)
    • Nitric Oxide (INo) (required)
    • Theophylline (required)
  • Skilled in care of patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, and fresh tracheostomy (all required)
  • Proficient in neonatal/pediatric procedures such as assisting in high risk deliveries and blood gases sampling
  • Competent in ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Professional knowledge of chest physiotherapy, drawing, and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Oxygen therapy management using ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), oxygen tanks, and trach collar
  • Airway management and suctioning, including extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, pulmonary hygiene, sputum collection, and tracheostomy care
  • Use of nebulizer devices: handheld, T-piece, and trach collar
  • Experience caring for infants and children with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert respiratory and neurodiagnostic care to adult and neonatal/pediatric patients in critical care and emergency settings
  • Administer respiratory medications and manage various delivery systems safely and effectively
  • Implement ventilator management protocols, including initiating, monitoring, and weaning mechanical ventilation
  • Perform airway management, suctioning, and endotracheal procedures ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Assist with high risk neonatal deliveries and perform capillary and umbilical blood gas analyses
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using Epic charting system
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize respiratory care plans and address patient needs
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards, especially in care of COVID-19 patients and fresh tracheostomies
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory care treatments and procedures

Qualifications

  • Current Respiratory Therapist licensure with required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP, PALS, and RRT
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory/neuro diagnostics and critical care environments
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ventilator management and neonatal/pediatric respiratory care
  • Excellent clinical judgment and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic healthcare team
  • Detail-oriented with proficiency in electronic medical records, specifically Epic
