Requirements & Skills

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota
• Proven experience in Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery nursing
• Ability to provide comprehensive care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills relevant to OB/L&D care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families
• Familiarity with fetal monitoring and emergency interventions in labor and delivery settings
• Commitment to maintaining patient safety and adhering to healthcare protocols

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care throughout all stages of labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpreting vital signs and fetal heart tracings
• Assist physicians and midwives during deliveries and emergency situations
• Educate and support patients and families regarding prenatal care, labor, delivery, and newborn care
• Document all care provided accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policies and standards
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Current RN licensure in Minnesota required
• Previous OB/L&D nursing experience highly preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are advantageous
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated dedication to compassionate patient care and ethical nursing practice
