Requirements & Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota
- Proven experience in Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery nursing
- Ability to provide comprehensive care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills relevant to OB/L&D care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Familiarity with fetal monitoring and emergency interventions in labor and delivery settings
- Commitment to maintaining patient safety and adhering to healthcare protocols
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care throughout all stages of labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpreting vital signs and fetal heart tracings
- Assist physicians and midwives during deliveries and emergency situations
- Educate and support patients and families regarding prenatal care, labor, delivery, and newborn care
- Document all care provided accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policies and standards
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Current RN licensure in Minnesota required
- Previous OB/L&D nursing experience highly preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated dedication to compassionate patient care and ethical nursing practice
