Overview Contract - W2 Long term care (LPN/LVN) Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Job Location: Tyndall, South Dakota Start Date: April 6, 2026 Profession: (LPN/LVN) Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Estimated Pay: $1,446.35/wk Duration: 99 weeks Specialty: Long term care (3 months of LTC experience required) Shift: Night Shift Details: Night Job Type: Travel Description This position provides care to assigned residents in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards, procedures and individualized resident care plans.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssures medications and treatments are administered to assigned residents following nursing standards of practice. Licensure for state of practice is required. BLSSkills/Abilities: Basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities;knowledge of basic nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of allmedications administered.Knowledge:Physical/Mental Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequency of travel may vary based on businessneed.Weight Lifting Requirement: 35 lbs. Requirements Valid LPN license in the state of employment with current CPR/BLS certification. Proven experience in long-term care facilities or skilled nursing environments; prior hospital or ICU experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation. Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for medical records documentation purposes. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges preferred. Ability to perform advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and sterile dressing changes. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute and chronic conditions. Excellent communication skills to effectively triage patient needs and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
