Requirements & Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Wisconsin
- Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing, preferably in a surgical ICU (SICU) environment
- Strong knowledge of critical care principles and best practices
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver complex nursing interventions
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities within multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required in an acute care setting
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill surgical patients in the ICU setting
- Monitor and assess patient status continuously, implementing appropriate interventions
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage advanced life support equipment
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and clinical observations
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and recovery processes
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards at all times
- Participate in ongoing education and maintain competency in ICU nursing practices
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Wisconsin
- Prior experience working in an ICU or surgical ICU setting is strongly preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Strong critical thinking and patient management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional development
Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $63.00 to $74.00
