Requirements and Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent patient care and communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation
- Ability to handle high-stress and fast-paced environments
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and overall status
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments with accuracy and adherence to protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient conditions
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards
- Educate patients and families regarding their care plans, treatments, and post-discharge instructions
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Wisconsin
- Previous ICU experience, preferably in a Surgical ICU environment
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to adapt to changing clinical situations and manage multiple priorities
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate ranging from $63.00 to $74.00
