Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality nursing care within a long-term care setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient assessment, medication administration, and chronic disease management, with a focus on delivering personalized care to residents. Weekly Gross Pay: $1,710.00
Weekly Taxable Pay: $560.00
Non-taxable Weekly: $1,150.00
Minimum 2 Years' experience in LPN LONG TERM CARE:
Genie Healthcare is currently seeking experienced LPN LONG TERM CARE to fill an opening place located in Flandreau, SD for $42.75 /hr. (Taxed+ nontaxed)
Requirements of LPN LONG TERM CARE:
● Must have AHA BLS.
● Must have a valid state SD License or Compact license.
● Must have at least 2 years of experience as an LPN LONG TERM CARE

Responsibilities of LPN LONG TERM CARE:
Shift: - 8 Hours Days
Shift Details: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
40 hours/week. (5*8)
13-week contract
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and catheter care.
Monitor residents' conditions closely, managing acute pain and responding promptly to changes in health status through triage and urgent care procedures.
Assist with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, and behavioral health interventions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care strategies.
Maintain infection control standards and aseptic techniques during procedures like phlebotomy, suturing, or spinal taps.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by accurately documenting medical records and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Provide education on health coaching topics including nutrition, medication management, and chronic disease prevention tailored to senior or assisted living populations.
Experience
Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license with current state certification.
Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is highly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in medical documentation within EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth.
Experience managing complex patient needs including dementia care, hospice care, or ICU-level conditions such as acute trauma or infectious disease cases.
Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation processes is advantageous.
Background in hospital medicine or emergency medicine environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma experience is desirable.
Familiarity with medical procedures such as ventilator management, tube feeding, catheterization, and sterile processing enhances clinical capabilities.
Strong physiology knowledge combined with skills in patient assessment and vital signs monitoring ensures comprehensive care delivery for diverse populations including pediatrics or neonatal ventilator patients when applicable.
