We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Therapy/Rehabilitation team in Portland, OR. Schedule
- Day Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certified with BLS (Basic Life Support), CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology), and Oregon state licensure
- Experience working in acute care settings
- Proficient in charting and documentation, preferably using Epic electronic health record system
- Skilled in comprehensive billing and documentation processes, including assessment, evaluation, plan of care development, reassessments, and discharge planning
- Expertise in dysphagia management, including:
- Bedside swallow evaluation
- Use of compensatory strategies (required)
- Conducting and interpreting Modified Barium Swallow Studies
- Application of the International Dysphagia Diet (required)
- Modification of diet orders
- Use of Passy Muir valves (required)
- Management of tracheostomy and ventilator patients (required)
- No travel required for this position
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality speech-language pathology services to patients in an acute care setting
- Conduct thorough assessments and diagnostic evaluations, including bedside swallow and Modified Barium Swallow Studies
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and dysphagia management strategies
- Manage patient care effectively, including ongoing reassessments and discharge planning
- Efficiently document all patient interactions and care plans using Epic or preferred charting systems
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements, including maintaining certifications and licensure
Qualifications
- Current CCC-SLP certification and Oregon state licensure
- BLS certification mandatory
- Minimum one year of experience in acute care speech-language pathology
- Proficiency with Epic or similar electronic documentation systems preferred
- Strong clinical skills in dysphagia management and acute care rehabilitation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
