Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Night Shift)
We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team in Everett, WA. Shift & Schedule
- Night Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, with preference for Freestanding Emergency Room experience
- Proficient in Epic Charting System
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Respiratory Care skills:
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Care of ventilated patients
- Chest tube insertion and management
- Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
- IV Therapy and Phlebotomy skills:
- Blood product administration
- Central line care and management
- Phlebotomy
- Starting and maintaining IV lines
- Medication expertise:
- Continuous IV sedation
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response:
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Professional skills including triage
- Familiarity and proficiency with special equipment used in emergency care
- Travel experience is not required; note: “call out on 1st time traveler”
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to patients presenting in the Emergency Department, including respiratory management and cardiac monitoring
- Perform triage and assess patients’ conditions promptly and accurately in emergent situations
- Administer medications, including continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols
- Manage intravenous therapy, including starting IVs, maintaining central lines, and administering blood products
- Interpret vital diagnostic tests such as ABGs and 12-lead EKGs, and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias effectively
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless emergency treatment
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using the Epic charting system
- Maintain proficiency in emergency equipment and protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- At least 2 years of recent clinical experience, preferably in an Emergency Department or Freestanding ER setting
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Strong clinical skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system
- Ability to work nights, manage critical situations, and perform triage efficiently
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $54.00 - $64.00 and the flexibility that comes with working nights.
