Shift & Schedule
- Day Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of professional nursing experience; Cath Lab experience required (screening allowed for less than 2 years)
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
- Proficient in IV therapy, including assistance with Central Line insertion and management
- Competent in blood product administration
- Professional knowledge and skills related to cardiac care, including:
- Cardioversion
- Hypothermia protocol
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Monitoring procedural sedation
- Obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Sheath removal and monitoring
- Experience with pulmonary procedures such as chest tube placement
- Capable of working in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab settings
- Medications: Procedural sedation administration and monitoring proficiency
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic and interventional interventions
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and manage patient safety throughout procedures
- Assist with the insertion and management of central lines and chest tubes as required
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and EKG/ECG acquisition
- Execute safe and effective sheath removal and related post-procedural care
- Administer blood products and IV therapies as indicated
- Follow hypothermia protocol and respond adeptly to cardioversion needs
- Document nursing care and patient outcomes accurately and timely
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and procedural success
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or compact license where applicable
- Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing with a focus on cardiac catheterization is preferred
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to function in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide patient-centered care and work within multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and adaptability to travel assignments and varied clinical settings
