Shift & Schedule
- Nights (3x12 hour shifts)
- Shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Med Surg Unit – Registered Nurse role
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience; 3 years Med Surg experience preferred
- Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
- Patient ratio experience: 1:5
- Proficient with Epic charting system (required)
- BLS and OCN certifications required
- Experienced in isolation precautions and appropriate use of PPE
- Med/Surg clinical knowledge and skills
- Respiratory skills including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and oxygen tank management
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, specifically peripheral line care and management
- Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and participation in rapid response and code teams
- Oncology experience is highly desirable
- No travel required for this position
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med Surg patients with diverse medical needs
- Manage patient care assignments with a ratio of 1:5, ensuring safety and quality outcomes
- Execute isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols to maintain a safe care environment
- Utilize Epic for accurate and timely patient documentation and charting
- Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy and airway management
- Perform IV therapy, including peripheral line maintenance and phlebotomy as required
- Collaborate actively with rapid response and code teams in emergency situations
- Support and mentor junior nursing staff and assist with charge nurse responsibilities when applicable
- Implement oncology nursing practices aligned with patient care plans
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate excellent patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Washington
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification required
- Proven expertise in Med Surg nursing care with a minimum of 1 year experience; 3 years preferred
- Competency in Epic electronic health record system
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical nursing practices
