Requirements and Skills
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) or equivalent certification
- Specialized training or certification in Interventional Radiology preferred
- Experience operating fluoroscopy and advanced IR imaging equipment
- Strong knowledge of IR procedures, vascular and non-vascular interventions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, acute care environment
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control standards
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate interventional radiology imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images
- Assist physicians during IR procedures by providing technical support and operating imaging machinery
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide patient care during procedures
- Maintain accurate records of procedures, equipment, and supplies used
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards including radiation safety protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and effective patient care
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to remain current in IR technology and procedures
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent
- Demonstrated proficiency in interventional radiology procedures and equipment operation
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and clinical demands
