Requirements & Skills
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience or specialized training in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in obstetric care
- Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care to mothers and newborns
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation standards
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum process
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognizing and responding to changes promptly
- Support patients and their families with education and emotional support during labor and delivery
- Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards in the maternity unit
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Prior experience as an L&D RN or completion of relevant obstetric nursing training
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
- Commitment to professional development and quality patient care standards
