Requirements & Skills
- Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent certification preferred
- In-depth knowledge of angiographic procedures, catheterization techniques, and cardiovascular anatomy
- Proficient in operating and maintaining specialized cath lab equipment and monitoring devices
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control practices
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills in emergent and routine situations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and equipment for catheterization procedures
- Assist physicians during cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to changes promptly
- Operate imaging equipment to capture detailed cardiovascular images
- Ensure all procedural and safety protocols are strictly followed
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all procedures
- Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on cath lab devices
- Provide post-procedure patient care and education as needed
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent education
- Certified or eligible for certification as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in a cardiac catheterization laboratory preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and certification maintenance
