Join Our Team as a Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist in Richland, WA

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics professional to join our dynamic Respiratory Therapy NICU unit. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in neonatal and critical care, working in a Level III or IV NICU setting. Shift & Schedule

  • Night Shift
  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU Level III or IV units (required)
  • Charting experience with Epic system (required)
  • Preferred experience in Trauma Level I and Level II settings
  • Travel experience not required
  • Current certifications including ACLS, BLS, CRT or RRT, NRP, PALS or ENPC, and RRT
  • Proven expertise in Emergency Department settings (required)
  • Competency in adult critical care and NICU settings
  • Advanced respiratory care skills including management of:
    • ARDS, Aspiration, Bronchoscopy, COVID, Cystic Fibrosis, Fresh Tracheostomy, Pneumonia
  • Neonatal and pediatric equipment/procedures experience with:
    • Assisting in high-risk deliveries
    • Bubble CPAP, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP
    • Direct neonatal intubation (required)
    • High-frequency jet and oscillating ventilators (required)
    • Pressure/volume ventilator operation (required)
    • Umbilical blood gases (required)
  • Oxygen therapy competencies including bag and mask, ET tube, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), oxygen tanks, T-piece, and trach collar
  • Expertise in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high-frequency jet ventilators, high-frequency oscillators, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Strong skills in drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Advanced airway management and suctioning including extubation, intubation assist, nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy care/management
  • Medication administration experience, specifically with Nitric Oxide (INo)
  • Pulmonary function testing experience with spirometry (required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal patients in a Level III or IV NICU environment, including critically ill newborns
  • Perform and assist with direct neonatal intubation and advanced ventilator management on high-frequency and oscillating ventilators
  • Administer and monitor oxygen therapy and respiratory medications, including Nitric Oxide
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal respiratory support and patient outcomes
  • Accurately chart and document patient data using the Epic electronic medical record system
  • Conduct arterial blood gas collection and interpretation to guide patient care decisions
  • Assist in high-risk deliveries and provide immediate respiratory intervention
  • Manage airway devices and perform suctioning to maintain airway patency and prevent complications
  • Educate and support families regarding respiratory treatments and protocols
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards in respiratory therapy delivery

Qualifications

  • Validated certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT or RRT, NRP, PALS or ENPC, and RRT
  • Minimum two years’ experience in NICU Level III/IV respiratory therapy
  • Experience working in Emergency Department and adult critical care settings a significant plus
  • Proficient in the use of Epic charting system
  • Demonstrated expertise in neonatal ventilator management and airway care
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills under high-pressure clinical situations

Compensation & Benefits
