Join Our Team as a Radiology / Cardiology Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are actively seeking a qualified and dedicated Radiology / Cardiology Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Orange, CA. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your specialized skills in nuclear medicine while working in a dynamic clinical environment. As a valued member of our team, you will utilize advanced imaging techniques to provide critical diagnostic information, contributing directly to patient care and outcomes.

Shift & Schedule

Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (5x8 hour shifts)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant Nuclear Medicine experience (travel experience required)
  • Certifications:
    • ARRT(N) – Required
    • ARRT(R) – Required
    • BLS – Required
    • NMTCB or ARRT(N) – Required
    • PET Certification – Required
    • Valid State of California Medical License – Required
  • Experience with Charting Systems, preferably Epic
  • Preferred experience in community hospital and Level I trauma settings
  • Proficiency in performing and interpreting nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures, including but not limited to:
    • SPECT imaging: Bone, Brain, Liver, Renal, and Sestamibi Parathyroid scans
    • Thyroid studies: Cancer surveys, I-123 and other uptake scans
    • Renal flow studies: Captopril challenge, flow/function, renal perfusion, three phase studies, with Lasix
    • Brain scans: Cerebral blood flow analysis
    • Lung scans: DTPA aerosol, perfusion, ventilation/perfusion
    • Myocardial scans: Exercise/rest multiple and single, pharmacological stress testing
    • Tumor localization: Limited and whole body
    • Liver/Spleen scans: Liver flow, imaging, and hemangioma identification
    • PET Scan procedures
  • Ability to start and maintain IVs independently
  • Skills in Adult ICU protocols and performing EKGs with PACS integration
  • Proficient operating experience with GE imaging equipment
  • Adaptable to both clinic and hospital work settings

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures including SPECT, PET scans, and various diagnostic imaging studies in alignment with clinical protocols and safety guidelines
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated imaging equipment with precision and adherence to manufacturer and regulatory requirements, specifically GE systems
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, explaining processes and ensuring comfort while safely establishing IV access when needed
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists, cardiologists, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy
  • Document imaging procedures and patient information accurately in the electronic health record system, preferably Epic
  • Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards, infection control protocols, and state licensing regulations
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and procedures

Qualifications

  • Approved Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensure and certifications as detailed above
  • Proven experience in nuclear medicine technology with an emphasis on radiology and cardiology applications
  • Demonstrated competency in performing the comprehensive array of studies described in the requirements section
  • Excellent patient care skills and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical settings
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with healthcare teams and educate patients
  • Flexibility and professionalism to meet travel assignment demands and varied clinical environments
