Requirements and Skills
- Certified or registered as a Radiologic Technologist with a focus on Interventional Radiology or Vascular Technology
- Proficient in operating IR imaging equipment and catheterization laboratory machinery
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and interventional procedures
- Ability to prepare patients for procedures and provide clear, compassionate communication
- Excellent attention to detail with strong observational and technical skills
- Capacity to maintain sterile fields and adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols
- Effective collaboration skills to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Perform interventional radiology procedures, assisting physicians with imaging guidance and catheter manipulations
- Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis and treatment
- Prepare and position patients correctly, monitor vital signs, and maintain patient comfort throughout procedures
- Maintain sterile technique and comply with radiation safety standards
- Document procedures accurately and assist in managing patient records and imaging data
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with evolving IR technologies and protocols
- Communicate effectively with medical team members, ensuring smooth workflow and patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography with registry or certification in Interventional Radiology or Vascular Technology preferred
- Previous experience in interventional radiology or vascular lab settings is highly desirable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to compassionate patient care
