We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated CNA / Nurse Assistant to join our Long Term Care team. Shift & Schedule
- Night Shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Day Shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum of 0.5 years of CNA experience
- Experience with patient ratios between 1:10-20
- Proficient with any charting system (documentation required)
- Previous travel experience is required
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Professional knowledge of abnormal and normal vital sign parameters for adults and pediatrics
- Skillful in safe patient transfers and assisting with activities of daily living, including:
- Ambulation assistance
- Feeding
- Turning and repositioning
- Bed shampoo and linen changes (occupied and unoccupied)
- Complete bed baths
- Foot and mouth care
- Perineal care (male/female)
- Pressure injury prevention
- Shaving
- Shower assistance
- Skin care
- Urine and stool incontinence care
- Infection control competencies including donning and removing PPE and adherence to isolation precautions
- Familiarity with equipment such as glucometers, oxygen tanks, and pulse oximetry devices
- Ability to perform procedures including glucose point of care testing, and obtaining vitals such as blood pressure (including orthostatic), respiratory rate, radial pulse, and temperatures via oral, rectal, axillary, and tympanic routes
- Experience working in Long Term Acute Care (LTAC), Long Term Care (LTC), or Skilled Nursing settings
- Strong recording and reporting skills, including timely communication of changes in patient condition
- Comfortable working with young adult, middle adult, and older adult patient populations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, competent, and safe patient care in accordance with facility policies and state regulations
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility to promote comfort and independence
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any abnormalities promptly to nursing staff
- Perform routine hygiene care, including bathing, grooming, and wound care support
- Ensure proper infection control standards are maintained during all patient interactions
- Accurately document patient information using electronic or paper charting systems
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients
- Assist with transfers and use of medical equipment ensuring patient safety at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous travel experience as a healthcare professional is required
- Ability to work flexible shifts as required (including nights and days as per schedule)
