Requirements & Skills
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin
- Strong clinical expertise in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother-Baby nursing care
- Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills
- Ability to provide compassionate education and emotional support to mothers and families during the perinatal period
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Commitment to maintaining patient safety and adhering to established clinical protocols
- Proficiency in electronic health records and documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to women in labor, postpartum mothers, and newborns, ensuring both comfort and safety
- Monitor mother and baby’s vital signs and progress, promptly identifying and responding to any complications
- Assist with deliveries and support physicians and midwives during labor and delivery processes
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, infant care, breastfeeding, and newborn safety
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical observations
- Advocate for patients’ needs and provide emotional support during a critical time
- Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies to promote a safe care environment
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Wisconsin
- Relevant experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or Mother-Baby nursing preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) highly desirable
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits
