We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics professional to join our Respiratory Therapy NICU team. Shift and Schedule
- Night Shift: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a NICU Level III or IV unit
- Proficient with Epic charting system (required)
- Experience in Emergency Department settings (required)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT or RRT, NRP, PALS or ENPC, and RRT
- Preferred experience in Trauma Level I or II settings
- Must be skilled in neonatal and pediatric respiratory care, including direct neonatal intubation, high frequency jet ventilator management, oscillating ventilators, and pressure/volume ventilators
- Demonstrated proficiency with ventilator management techniques such as BiPAP, CPAP, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
- Hands-on experience with oxygen therapy devices including bag and mask, ET tubes, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, T-piece, and trach collars
- Ability to perform drawing and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Competent in airway management procedures including extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement and suctioning, oral airway placement, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene
- Experience with medication administration including inhaled Nitric Oxide (INo)
- Required pulmonary function testing experience including spirometry
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in Level III/IV NICU and adult critical care settings
- Assist in high-risk deliveries by managing advanced respiratory devices such as bubble CPAP and nasal CPAP/BiPAP
- Operate and monitor advanced respiratory equipment including high frequency jet ventilators, oscillating ventilators, and pressure/volume ventilators
- Manage ventilator settings, perform regular assessments, and troubleshoot alarms to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Administer respiratory medications, including the delivery of inhaled Nitric Oxide as prescribed
- Conduct arterial blood gas draws and perform accurate interpretation to guide respiratory interventions
- Perform airway management and maintenance procedures such as intubation assistance, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Maintain meticulous documentation in Epic charting system, ensuring compliance with protocols and standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
- Educate families and caregivers on respiratory care techniques and equipment post-discharge
Qualifications
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT or RRT, NRP, PALS or ENPC, and RRT
- At least 2 years’ clinical experience in NICU Level III or IV respiratory therapy
- Proficient in using Epic electronic health records system
- Strong clinical knowledge of respiratory, neuro diagnostic equipment and procedures in critical care settings
- Excellent clinical judgment with ability to work independently during night shifts
- Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family education
- Commitment to continued professional development and best practices in respiratory therapy
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate: $58.00 - $69.00
