Shift and Schedule
- Day shift, 5 days a week (Monday through Friday)
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in occupational therapy preferred
- Experience in adult and pediatric rehabilitation facilities (required)
- Experience working with a broad range of patient conditions including:
- Amputee (required)
- Arthritis (required)
- Coma management (required)
- CV A rehabilitation
- Dementia/Alzheimer’s
- Hand injury (required)
- Multiple sclerosis (required)
- Nerve injury (required)
- Parkinson's disease (required)
- Spinal cord injury (required)
- Tendon repair (required)
- Traumatic brain injury
- Lower and upper extremity
- Orthopedics experience in:
- Arthritis program (required)
- Hand injury (required)
- Hip fracture and total hip replacement
- Knee injuries and total knee replacement
- Soft tissue injuries (required)
- Proficiency in billing and documentation including assessment, discharge, evaluation, plan of care, and reassessments (reassessments required)
- Experience with Functional Independence Measure (FIM) evaluation tool (required)
- Preferred experience with Epic charting system
- Travel experience required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong professional skills in patient/family education, telephone communication, lifting and transfer, safety and injury prevention
- Competence in infection prevention and fall/risk assessment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and evaluations for patients in acute care and rehabilitation settings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing a wide range of neurological, orthopedic, and developmental conditions
- Utilize Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and other evaluation tools to monitor patient progress and update care plans accordingly
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, treatments, and progress using designated charting systems, preferably Epic
- Engage patients and their families through education on condition management, rehabilitation goals, and safety techniques
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and facilitate smooth transitions within healthcare settings
- Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, fall/risk assessments, and safety standards to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in discharge planning and ensure accurate and timely documentation of therapy services
- Maintain compliance with professional regulations and stay current with best practices in occupational therapy
Qualifications
- Valid occupational therapy license or certification as required by state regulations
- Minimum of 1 year experience preferred in relevant clinical settings
- Current BLS certification
- Proven ability to handle patients with complex rehabilitation needs including neurological and orthopedic disorders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and family education
- Ability and willingness to travel as part of job requirements
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational abilities
Compensation and Benefits
