Shift & Schedule
- Night Shift: Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Hours: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Key Requirements & Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of recent direct patient care experience
- Experience in a Level 3 trauma facility is required
- Proficiency with Epic Charting System
- Travel experience required (hard stop at this time)
- Certifications: ARRT CT, BLS, and Oregon State OBMI (all required)
- Advanced imaging skills including:
- 3D rendering: Maximum intensity projection, Surface shaded displays, Volume rendering
- Multiplanar reconstruction (MPR)
- Region of interest measurement (ROI)
- Comprehensive knowledge of abdomen and pelvis imaging with and without contrast
- Experience in diverse work settings including:
- Adult Acute Care
- Adult Outpatient (required)
- Emergency Department
- ICU (required)
- Level I and Level II Trauma Centers (required)
- Competency in special procedures including:
- Aspirations
- Biopsies
- Brain perfusion
- CT arthrography
- Drainage
- Myelography
- Vascular CTA
- Head and Neck imaging expertise including carotid, sinuses, soft tissue neck, trauma head, head scans with/without contrast
- Proficiency in spine and musculoskeletal imaging: cervical, lumbar, thoracic, musculoskeletal trauma
- Chest imaging skills including chest and heart studies, and vascular chest CTA
- Experience with GE equipment and PACS (required)
- Strong professional knowledge in:
- Isolation Precautions and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Preparation and administration of contrast media
- Radiation safety protocols
- Starting peripheral IVs and venipuncture
- Level III trauma hospital experience as a minimum
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging on patients, ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant guidelines and protocols
- Utilize advanced image processing techniques including 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, and ROI measurements for diagnostic clarity
- Conduct various imaging procedures across head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and musculoskeletal systems with precision
- Assist in special CT procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, brain perfusion studies, and vascular CTA
- Maintain rigorous radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff
- Prepare and administer contrast media accurately in accordance with established protocols
- Chart patient imaging and care details meticulously in the Epic system
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams in ICU, emergency, and trauma settings to support timely and effective patient care
- Adhere to infection control practices and use appropriate PPE consistently
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of GE imaging equipment and PACS software
- Support patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures, including starting peripheral IVs and performing venipuncture as necessary
Qualifications
- Certified Radiologic Technologist with ARRT CT certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Oregon State OBMI licensure
- Demonstrated clinical experience in Level III trauma hospital environments
- Proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure acute care and trauma settings
- Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach
- Detail-oriented with excellent technical and organizational skills
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment
Compensation & Benefits
