Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery – Night Shift

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit in Issaquah, WA. Shift & Schedule

  • Night Shift: 4 x 12-hour shifts
  • Shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (screening out less than 2 years)
  • Proficient in Epic charting system
  • Travel experience required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
  • IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including administration of blood and blood products, maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
  • Medication administration skills including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
  • Labor and Delivery management: assist with high-risk deliveries, circulate and recover C-sections, perform sterile vaginal exams
  • Pain management expertise including epidural anesthesia, pain assessment and management, and use of PCA (IV)
  • Experienced in facility births ranging 200-300/month in a high-risk antepartum and labor & delivery environment
  • Familiarity with isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
  • Competence in antepartum care including triage of obstetrical patients
  • Proficiency in fetal monitoring including IUPC placement and calibration
  • Postpartum care experience including wound assessment and care
  • Work environment must be within a teaching hospital setting

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing care to high-risk obstetrical patients throughout antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
  • Monitor fetal status using advanced technologies such as fetal heart monitoring and intrauterine pressure catheters
  • Administer medications, blood products, and manage central venous lines accurately and safely
  • Assist physicians during complex labor and delivery procedures, including high-risk vaginal births and Cesarean sections
  • Implement pain management protocols and assess patients’ pain levels, utilizing epidural anesthesia and PCA devices
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation within the Epic electronic health record system
  • Conduct thorough triage assessments for obstetrical patients and facilitate appropriate care plans
  • Apply isolation precautions and ensure compliance with PPE protocols for infection control
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes
  • Provide patient and family education focused on prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum care

Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Washington
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, preferably in a teaching hospital
  • Current ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications
  • Strong clinical skills in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, and post-cesarean care
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment
