Shift & Schedule
- Night Shift: 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 to 7:30)
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience (candidates with less than 2 years will not be considered)
- Proficient in electronic charting systems, specifically Epic
- Experience with travel nursing assignments required
- Certifications required:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Clinical skills including:
- IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Administration of blood and blood products
- Maintenance of central lines (CVC / PICC)
- Medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy
- Labor and delivery management such as assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, sterile vaginal exams
- Pain management including epidural anesthesia monitoring, pain assessment and management, and use of PCA (IV)
- Isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
- Antepartum triage and care of obstetrical patients
- Fetal monitoring including IUPC placement and calibration
- Postpartum care including wound assessment and care
- Experience working in settings with 200-300 facility births per month and exposure to high-risk antepartum cases
- Required experience in a teaching hospital environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period, prioritizing patient and newborn safety
- Manage high-risk deliveries, including support during C-sections and sterile vaginal examinations
- Administer medications accurately and safely, particularly those critical to maternal and fetal well-being
- Perform vigilant fetal monitoring using electronic devices such as IUPC and FHM to assess fetal health status
- Maintain proper documentation and use of Epic electronic health records consistently and accurately
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, midwives, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards, isolation precautions, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment
- Educate mothers and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and pain management options
- Maintain readiness for emergencies including neonatal resuscitation and maternal cardiac events
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in the state of Washington
- Minimum two years recent experience in labor and delivery nursing
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
- Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record documentation
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for travel nursing assignments
Compensation & Benefits
Pay range: $59.00 - $70.00 per hour
