Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse – Case Management RN in Anchorage, AK

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Case Management team. Shift & Schedule

  • Day Shift: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (5 days, 8 hours each)

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Proficient with Epic charting system
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • LTAC experience preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Certifications required:
    • ACM-RN certification
    • AK RN License
    • BLS certification
  • Demonstrated ability in case management and utilization review including:
    • Admission Criteria
    • Care coordination
    • Continued stay reviews
    • Determining medical necessity using evidence-based guidelines
    • Needs assessment and durable medical equipment (DME) ordering
    • Plan of care development
    • Pre-Certification reviews
    • Prior authorizations
    • Utilizing InterQual criteria
    • Utilizing Milliman guidelines
    • Worker's compensation case management
  • Regulatory knowledge including:
    • CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services)
    • Department of Health requirements
    • HIPAA guidelines
    • ICD-10 coding
    • The Joint Commission/C-Core Measure/National Safety Goals
    • Workers Compensation regulations
  • Acute hospital specialty experience in:
    • Emergency Department
    • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
    • Medical-Surgical (MS)
    • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
    • Pediatrics
    • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
    • Women's Services
  • Travel experience is not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive case management services within an acute hospital environment
  • Evaluate patient admission criteria to ensure appropriate utilization of healthcare resources
  • Coordinate care planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Conduct continued stay reviews and determine medical necessity using established guidelines including InterQual and Milliman
  • Manage prior authorization and pre-certification processes effectively
  • Assess patient needs and coordinate ordering of durable medical equipment (DME) as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, Department of Health, HIPAA, Joint Commission, and Workers Compensation regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within Epic and ensure adherence to ICD-10 coding standards
  • Support worker’s compensation case management activities
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to meet or exceed hospital core measures and safety goals

Qualifications

  • Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • ACM-RN certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Minimum two years of relevant nursing case management experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Strong knowledge of case management protocols, utilization review, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate between $64.00 and $76.00
