Requirements & Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proven experience in a Cath Lab setting or relevant cardiovascular nursing environment
- Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile technique
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team collaboration
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and critical thinking abilities
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
- Monitor patients’ hemodynamic status, vital signs, and overall condition throughout procedures
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, technologists, and other clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper preparation and functioning of Cath Lab equipment
- Educate patients and their families regarding procedures, recovery, and ongoing care plans
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely according to hospital and regulatory standards
- Respond promptly to any adverse events or emergencies to safeguard patient wellbeing
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain knowledge of best practices in cardiovascular nursing
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Experience in Cath Lab nursing or cardiovascular critical care preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to thrive in a procedural environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional development
