Requirements and Skills

• Proficiency in performing electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures including routine and prolonged monitoring
• Strong knowledge of neurodiagnostic equipment and safety protocols
• Ability to accurately prepare patients and electrodes to ensure quality recordings
• Capability to recognize and document abnormal brain wave activity during EEG procedures
• Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and reports
• Compliance with infection control and patient confidentiality standards

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for EEG procedures by explaining processes and positioning electrodes
• Conduct routine and extended EEG monitoring to capture brain activity data
• Operate and maintain EEG equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Identify and document pertinent clinical events or abnormalities during monitoring
• Collaborate with neurologists and healthcare teams to provide comprehensive neurodiagnostic information
• Maintain detailed patient records and prepare reports summarizing findings
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited EEG Technologist program or equivalent training
• Certification as an EEG Technologist (e.g., ABRET) preferred
• Previous experience in EEG monitoring or neurodiagnostic services highly desirable
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
• Flexible, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care

Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $59.00 to $69.00, paid weekly.
