We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics professional to join our dynamic team. Shift & Schedule

  • Night Shift
  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
  • Shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Unit/Department: CRTRRT

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Preferred experience in teaching hospital settings
  • Preferred Trauma Level I experience
  • No travel required for this role
  • Required Certifications:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
    • Valid Washington state professional license
  • Medication Delivery Systems expertise including:
    • Aerosol set up (mask and trach)
    • Medihaler and Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI)
  • Medication Administration knowledge including but not limited to:
    • Bicarbonate (required)
    • Inhaled Flolan (required)
    • Ketamine (required)
    • Mucomyst (required)
    • Nitric Oxide (INo) (required)
    • Theophylline (required)
    • Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Xopenex
  • Ventilator management skills including:
    • BiPAP and CPAP operation
    • Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms (required)
    • Weaning patients from mechanical ventilation (required)
  • Experience working in:
    • Emergency Department (required)
    • Pediatrics (required)
  • Airway management and suctioning including:
    • Extubation
    • Nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
    • Pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection
    • Tracheostomy care and management
  • Nebulizer use including handheld, T-piece, and trach collar systems
  • Professional knowledge in arterial blood gases (ABGs) interpretation
  • Proficiency with oxygen therapy delivery using trach collar
  • Additional skills in trauma and rapid response situations (required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory and neuro diagnostic care to patients in various acute care settings including emergency and pediatric units
  • Administer prescribed medications and manage delivery systems accurately while monitoring patient reactions and documenting appropriately
  • Operate and manage ventilators, perform troubleshooting, and assist with weaning patients from mechanical ventilation as clinically indicated
  • Apply expert airway management techniques including suctioning, extubation, and tracheostomy care to ensure airway patency and patient comfort
  • Perform thorough pulmonary hygiene and sputum collection to support diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
  • Interpret arterial blood gases to assess patient respiratory status and assist healthcare teams in developing effective treatment plans
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to trauma and rapid response calls, demonstrating advanced clinical skills and critical thinking
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards while promoting patient safety and quality of care
  • Document all care activities accurately and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Active ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
  • Valid Washington state respiratory license
  • Minimum of 2 years respiratory therapy experience, ideally including teaching hospital and trauma care exposure
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory and neuro diagnostic procedures, equipment, and emergency response
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills
  • Willingness to work a night shift schedule and contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $49.00 - $58.00.
