Requirements and Skills
- Current certification as an Interventional Radiology Technologist (ARRT-IR preferred)
- Proven experience operating fluoroscopic equipment and other IR imaging technologies
- Strong knowledge of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures
- Ability to prepare patients for procedures and maintain sterile environments
- Proficient in monitoring patient vital signs and assisting with contrast administration
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with physicians and nursing staff
- Commitment to safety protocols and quality assurance in an IR setting
Key Responsibilities
- Operate interventional radiology imaging equipment to capture detailed diagnostic images
- Assist physicians during minimally invasive vascular and non-vascular procedures
- Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all procedures
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient and procedure documentation
- Adhere strictly to infection control practices and radiation safety standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide seamless patient care
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in IR technology and techniques
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography and Interventional Radiology (or equivalent credentials)
- Licensure as required by the state of Wisconsin
- Minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience in interventional radiology preferred
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
