Requirements & Skills
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential preferred
- Proven experience in inpatient clinical nutrition and therapeutic diet management
- Ability to assess patient nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans
- Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy and dietary interventions for various diagnoses
- Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
- Current licensure or certification as required by the state of Minnesota
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatient populations
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient treatment goals
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in patient records
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
- Licensure to practice dietetics in Minnesota
- Experience in clinical inpatient settings strongly preferred
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
