Requirements & Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proven experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and care in a General Care Unit (GCU)
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical GCU
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions continuously
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed within the scope of nursing practice
- Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about their care, treatments, and post-discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times
- Identify potential complications and escalate care appropriately to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a Medical-Surgical nursing role preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $62.00 - $73.00
