Requirements and Skills

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, in good standing
  • Proven experience in Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery nursing
  • Strong knowledge of maternal-fetal monitoring and newborn care practices
  • Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and other clinical documentation systems
  • Up-to-date certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
  • Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs, interpreting clinical data accurately and promptly
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Educate and support patients and families before, during, and after birth
  • Maintain meticulous clinical documentation and adhere to regulatory standards
  • Respond efficiently to emergency situations, applying critical thinking and clinical skills
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance patient care standards

Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN licensure required
  • Specialized experience in OB/Labor & Delivery nursing
  • Valid BLS and NRP certifications
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and patient advocacy skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
