Requirements and Skills
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska
- Experience working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or critical care environment
- Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles and practices
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and manage complex clinical situations
- Proficient in the use of advanced medical equipment and technology used in ICU settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated capability to provide compassionate care to critically ill patients and their families
- Compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and facility policies
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU following established protocols and best practices
- Monitor and evaluate patient conditions continuously and respond promptly to changes
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians
- Operate and monitor ICU equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain complete medical records
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during critical situations
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain current knowledge in ICU nursing standards
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN licensure in Nebraska
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Previous ICU nursing experience highly desirable
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Compensation & Benefits
