Shift & Schedule
- Day Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Night Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician
- Patient ratio experience: 1:1
- Charting system experience preferred: Epic
- Certifications: ARDMS AB, ARDMS FE (required), ARDMS OB/GYN (required), BLS
- Proficient with GE ultrasound equipment (required) and PACS
- Expertise in OB/GYN ultrasound, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester and fetal anatomical surveys
- Proficient in general ultrasound procedures: abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, spleen
- Skilled in renal/pelvis imaging: bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, vaginal
- Experienced with small parts ultrasound: breast cyst aspiration, breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, thyroid
- Knowledgeable in vascular ultrasound including carotid, Doppler studies, lower and upper extremity venous assessments
- Performed procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration
- Work settings experience including adult, emergency department, NICU, portables
- Ability to work with outpatient and neonatal populations
- No travel experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive ultrasound examinations in radiology and cardiology focusing on emergency services and critical care settings.
- Operate GE ultrasound equipment and maintain proficiency in PACS for imaging and documentation.
- Conduct OB/GYN ultrasounds across all trimesters, including detailed fetal anatomical surveys.
- Accurately perform general, vascular, renal/pelvis, and small parts ultrasounds following established protocols.
- Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures such as biopsies, paracentesis, and thoracentesis.
- Deliver high-quality imaging for adult, neonatal, and outpatient populations within emergency and NICU departments.
- Maintain meticulous patient records using Epic or applicable charting systems.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort while adhering to all infection control and procedural standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care and support clinical decision-making.
Qualifications
- Certification by ARDMS in Abdomen (AB), Fetal Echocardiography (FE), and OB/GYN
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated proficiency with GE ultrasound machines and PACS systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced emergency department settings
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards
- Flexibility to work specified day or night 12-hour shifts
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
