Shift / Schedule
- Day Shift: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5 days a week, 8-hour shifts)
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in radiation therapy
- Preferred experience with Epic charting system
- Certification: ARRT T (Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist) and BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Experience in adult acute care settings (required)
- Proficiency in treatment of:
- Benign Brain Tumors
- Gynecomastia
- Heterotopic Bone
- Keloids
- Prophylactic Treatments
- Prostate Cancer with Seeds/Fiducials
- Respiratory Gating
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
- Superior Vena Cava treatments
- Billing knowledge for treatment types and devices
- Experience with beam modifying and positioning technologies including CBCT/kV/mV imaging and wedges
- General clinical skills including chart checks, crash cart proficiency, defibrillator use, emergency case response, and field shaping
- Pretreatment expertise in CT Simulation, custom molds, custom shields, and tumor localization
- Familiarity with Eclipse (Varian) treatment planning system
- Dosimetry knowledge including electron field, parallel opposed fields, SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy), and VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy)
- Provision of radiation therapy for patients diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Kidney Cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Pancreatic Cancer, and Testicular Cancer
- Experience operating treatment units: TrueBeam and Varian 21 ex/ix
- Expertise with beam modifiers
- No travel experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, accurate, and patient-centered radiation therapy treatments according to prescribed protocols
- Utilize advanced imaging and positioning technology (CBCT/kV/mV imaging, wedges) to optimize treatment delivery
- Perform CT simulations, custom molds, custom shields, and precise tumor localization to prepare personalized treatment plans
- Collaborate with oncologists, dosimetrists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure effective treatment planning and execution using Eclipse Varian system
- Manage billing processes related to treatments and devices accurately
- Conduct thorough chart checks and maintain detailed, accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory standards, preferably using Epic system
- Respond swiftly and competently to emergency situations, including utilizing defibrillator and crash cart if necessary
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment such as TrueBeam and Varian 21 ex/ix units with proper beam modification techniques
- Provide compassionate patient care, educating patients and families as appropriate about treatment procedures and expected outcomes
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and monitor patient reactions during and following treatments
Qualifications
- Certified ARRT Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist (ARRT T) and valid BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical radiation therapy experience in adult acute care settings
- Proficient with radiation therapy treatment planning systems, specifically Eclipse (Varian)
- Strong working knowledge of specialized treatments including SBRT, VMAT, and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
- Demonstrated experience with advanced beam positioning and imaging technology
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage emergency clinical situations effectively
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Rate: $56.00 - $67.00
